Dave Weckl plays Europe.

Hamburg, June 1st 2014 - Summer 2014 promises to get hot! Yamaha Drums Europe are honored to announce exclusive Performances with Drum Legend Dave Weckl this July in selected cities across Europe.

Like Steve Gadd before him, Dave Weckl spawned an army of imitators with his breathtaking playing on Chick Corea’s first Elektric Band album. Playing elegantly structured, complex compositions alongside sequenced accompaniments required a new level of technical mastery. Dave became a role model for a new generation of fusion drummers with his invention and uncanny precision.
“There are only few drummers, that have influenced complete generations of drummers & the way of drumming – but Dave Weckl is without doubt one of them” quotes Yamaha´s Artist Relations Manager Martin Kleinbreuer adding “we are very proud to make these dates possible in cooperation with selected Yamaha Drum Dealers. Dave will be performing songs from his career, give advice to drummers, answer questions and take time to sign autographs after each event.

As additional treat, Dave offers very limited “1-Day Intensive” Masterclasses to a selected group of 12 students in each location of the Yamaha Clinic Tour. These 12 lucky participants can spend 1 whole day drumming with individual attention from Dave Weckl. All performances along this tour will be played on Yamaha Absolute Hybrid Maple Drums. The new line of High-End drum shells is the latest generation of the prestigious “Yamaha Absolute Series” and has adapted many innovations and features from the Yamaha “PHX” flagship.
