InfoComm 2019: Yamaha Hosts AVIXA Seminars For AV Professionals
Yamaha Commercial Audio will host two sessions as part of the comprehensive AVIXA seminar program at InfoComm 2019. Yamaha: Network Boot Camp for AV Professionals and Audio Insights in Hospitality and Retail will address key technical and business aspects of audio networking and installed audio systems.
Addressing the technical aspects of networking and the decisions which need to be taken for installed audio systems in hospitality, retail and other public-facing environments, these sessions will be presented by senior product specialists Andy Cooper and Karl Christmas, both well-known faces from Yamaha’s Audioversity training program.
The seminars will be open to all InfoComm seminar and workshop package holders on a first-come, first -served basis, so advance registration is essential.*
Yamaha: Network Boot Camp for AV Professionals
Wednesday June 12, 3pm-4.30pm, Room W304C
With IP networks now forming the basis of audio, video, lighting and control in more and more AV installations and live productions, networking knowledge is crucial. Presented by Andy Cooper, this session is aimed at providing anyone working in audio or video with a great base set of networking skills. The session will feature a live Dante™ network, bringing the concepts discussed by Andy to life and helping participants to gain a better understanding of how data flows and how network optimization tools impact traffic, as well as providing some guidelines to estimate the load capacity of a network.
“The seminar has three main objectives: learning the basics of networking; learning how traffic can be optimized and understanding some network design features. Join us and come prepared to take notes; this will build a set of skills to use throughout your career,” says Andy.
Audio Insights in Hospitality and Retail
Friday June 14, 9am-10am, Room W310AB
Like lighting, aroma, and interior design, the sounds a customer is initially exposed to can have a significant impact on their comfort and enthusiasm. In this session, Karl Christmas will guide participants on how to attract investors for all commercial installed audio systems, with a focus on global hospitality and retail industries.
The session will encourage attendees to look at projects from the customer’s perspective and the benefits of clearly explaining to them the potential return on investment and positive effect on their business. It will look at how audio professionals can persuade non-technical people, architects and investors to understand the value of the investment in quality audio systems and how taking the time to fully understand the needs of a non-technical customer can help to encourage repeat business.
“An important part of Yamaha’s training initiative is to connect with audio professionals, to understand them, the challenges they face and be able to better respond to their expectations,” says Glenn Booth, Director of Marketing, Professional Audio at Yamaha Corporation of America. “We want to share our knowledge and experience with industry professionals through tradeshow seminars, webinars and other training sessions. We hope the seminars at InfoComm 2019 will help participants to improve their understanding of best practice, to benefit both them and their customers.”
Yamaha is exhibiting at Booth 6461 - Professional Audio, Booth 4961 – Unified Communications and in demo room W224D at InfoComm 2019, which takes place from 12-14 June at Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL USA.
* Onsite visitors will be able to attend if the sessions are not fully pre-booked.
