As the eldest son of a German saleswoman and an American G.I., Chris Brow was born in Bitburg Germany. As a toddler, Chris and his family relocated to New Mexico USA and some years later back to Germany again. Besides speaking both languages at home, he also attended schools in both countries.

“Adapting to new environments and new situations was as normal as adapting to the different seasons throughout the year – it felt natural.”

No wonder that when being asked as a child what he wanted to be when he grew up his answer was, “German president of the USA”. That job went to someone else BUT... His true passion has always been the stage. Whether it was acting in small roles at school plays or starting his first band at the age of 14.

Thanks to his distinctive empathy and passion for live-entertainment, Chris was quickly able to establish his reputation as a quality speaker and entertainer for international companies across all branches. “There are a number of entertainers out there that are better, funnier or more eloquent than I am. But you will not find anyone with more passion for the stage than me – whether in front of 10 or even 10.000 people. Just give me a stage and a mic and leave the rest to me!”

“Double MOBO Award winning YolanDa Brown is the premier female saxophonist in the UK, known for delicious fusion of Reggae, Jazz and Soul.

YolanDa has toured with Diana Krall, The Temptations, Billy Ocean, and collaborated with artists such as Snarky Puppy’s Bill Laurance, Reggae Legend Bob Marley’s son Julian, and the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.

Brown was recently awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Arts by the University of East London and also invited to meet the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh at Buckingham Palace.

She has played to Presidents and Heads of States and is a celebrity ambassador for the Prince’s Trust, Children and the Arts, and as recently been appointed Chair of the charity Youth Music.

A real renaissance woman, set to reach new heights as she celebrates her 10 Year Anniversary in music with a world tour.”

What advice would you give to people who want to get more involved in music?

Just do it... Music heals, Music encourages and Music Unites. Embrace music and all the hidden benefits it emits.

Sian Anderson is a 27 year-old media powerhouse and Grime ambassador. Alongside running SighTracked –her own Marketing and PR Company –Sian also holds down a daytime presenter and DJ slot on BBC Radio 1Xtra, runs youth mentoring programme FLOOR SIXX with Jason Black and is a freelance journalist for a handful of well-respected publications including The Fader, i-D Magazine, Red Bull and Noisey (VICE).

Raised in Lewisham, South London, Sian stayed in school until her A-Levels where she simultaneously began to pursue a career in the media - particularly grime music and entertainment. Sian fell into grime early on, sparring with friends in the playground over ripped Wiley and Ruff Sqwad instrumentals.

As a DJ she debuted at Glastonbury with a DJ set back to back with Madam X, played sets at legendary U.K. clubs Fabric, and Studio 338, represented Noisey for a second year at Fresh Island Festival in Croatia, played twice for Warehouse Project 2016 and supported Royal T at Nottinghams Stealth.

Sian then took a year out then to focus on motherhood, coming back to business in 2017 as she became the first female DJ to present drive on the network with her current 16:00 – 19:00 show on BBC Radio 1Xtra. Now, at 27, Sian is ready for more and is set to embark on the next phase of her journey with DJ sets at Lovebox Festival, Creamfields, Ibiza Rocks and SXSW.”

What advice would you give to people who want to get more involved in music?

Practise your craft.

“Nick is Content Director of Jazz FM, the world’s largest English speak jazz radio station. He has responsibility for all audio, visual and comms content for the national brand along with the world famous Jazz FM Awards.

He also led the groundbreaking JV BBC Music Jazz pop-up digital radio stations in 2015 and 2016 on behalf of Jazz FM. Having previously worked for an array of broadcasters (BBC, Chrysalis, GMG and independent), he’s won various awards including UK Sony Radio Awards and New York Festivals. He is also Festival Director of this year’s Radio Academy Radio Festival in May.”

What advice would you give to people who want to get more involved in music?

Fill your black book with the CORRECT contacts and keep it up to date. Be communicative, but not pushy as it puts people off.

“I'm a keys/piano player from Germany, based in East London. I started playing the piano when I was 6 years old and haven't stopped ever since.

After graduating from University in England I started working in the session scene, playing for a lot of different artists. It was then when I started uploading jamming/playing videos of my housemate and myself online and we started writing together.

Now we are in an artist project called HANNIE and have just released our first single with a lot more to come in the next few months.”

What advice would you give to people who want to get more involved in music?

Practice and play as much as you can but also socialise/network with other musicians and people in the industry. In the end of the day it's always those connections that bring you further!

“Duncan Dick is the Editor of Mixmag, the world's biggest dance music and club culture magazine. Dunca's day to day job involves selecting with the team who and what to cover in each issue, editing the feature section and overseeing every facet of the magazine from pictures and design to copy and captions.

In November 2016 he also oversaw a complete redesign and relaunch of the magazine, which continues to evolve in terms of content and aesthetic.

With Mixmag growing from primarily a print title to arguably the world's biggest dance music media brand, there are always far more things to do though: from giving DJ lessons on stage at Bestival to developing native content ideas for brand partnerships, from helping with artist liaison at Mixmag events - to tidying up before the weekly DJ streaming sessions from the club we built in our office.”

“Guitarist based East London. I started guitar and drum lessons when I was about 6 or 7.

I went to study music, specifically guitar at ACM and Berklee then moved to London and started out in the session scene, playing for various artists.

In 2017 my flatmate and I put some videos of us playing online and from this have formed an artists project called HANNIE, we recently released our first single and have more coming.”
