Hamamatsu, Japan ― Yamaha Corporation announces that it will host the 7th Yamaha International Highlight Concert in Korea, a concert performed by students of YAMAHA MUSIC SCHOOLS (hereinafter called “YMS”) in over 40 countries and regions around the world, in Seoul, Korea, on January 24, 2026.
The Yamaha International Highlight Concert brings together students learning piano, Electone, and other musical instruments at YMS from around the world. They perform classical pieces, original compositions from the Junior Original Concert*1, and improvisations. This seventh iteration of the event will feature 30 students from 10 countries and regions, showcasing their creative musical expression. To commemorate the event's occurrence in Korea, YMS students will begin the concert with a performance of a song by a renowned Korean rock band, Day6. A video recording of the event will be available on Yamaha Corporation’s official YouTube channel in March 2026.
“The Yamaha International Highlight Concert is the most significant activity that embodies YMS’s philosophy: ‘To foster the musical sensitivity that everyone is born with, to develop the ability to enjoy creating and playing the music of their own and ultimately share the joy of music with anyone,’” said Kennei Sakai, general manager of the Sales Company Management Division. “Through activities ranging from daily lessons to the world’s grandest stages, YMS supports not only the children’s musical skills but also their personal growth.”
*1 The Junior Original Concert provides children aged 15 and below, who study at YMS around the world, with the opportunity to compose pieces that express their feelings and perform them in various locations around the world for more than 50 years.

About YAMAHA MUSIC SCHOOL
The philosophy of YMS is “To foster the musical sensitivity that everyone is born with, to develop the ability to enjoy creating and playing the music of their own and ultimately share the joy of music with anyone.” Yamaha Music Education System is a systematic method to implement this philosophy. We are actively involved in training teachers, developing teaching materials, implementing a musical skill grading system (Yamaha Grade Examination System), and holding concerts. In addition, we are promoting the popularization of music and educational activities while also working on the development of schools around the world as well as staff training.
YMS first opened in Japan in 1954, followed by the first international location in Los Angeles, USA in 1964, and now over 430,000 students learn and experience the joy of music around the world. While harmonizing with the unique cultures and nationalities of different countries, the joy of music is being spread.
